| Community Services-Post Release Services: Community Connection offers support, assistance, consultations, transitional and educational programming and referrals for offenders, ex-offenders and their families. Services include: case management, employment assistance, information and referral services, and other assistance on an as needed basis.
Insititutional Services-Aunt Mary's Storybook Project: Incarcerated parents tape record books for their children to strengthen family bonds and encourage literacy. Currently established in 12 Ohio prisons.
Prison Literacy: Trained inmate tutors teach inmate students to increase their reading skills. Using the newspaper as a teaching tool, students gain basic life-skills and increase their employability.
Restorative Justice:Community Connection addresses repairing the harm done to individuals by providing: a)victim awareness panels to offenders, b)the opportunity for victims of violent crimes to dialogue with their offenders, and c)ex-offender speakers to address inmates concerning personal accountability. We work to bridge the gap between victims and offenders in a constructive manner. |
